We people are biased when it comes to beauty. For us, beauty is when a person who is physically attractive but in reality, it’s more to it. It’s not the physical appearance that makes a person beautiful but the heart and soul make them one.
Evita Delmundo was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. She’s a Rungus-Filipino mix and is the second oldest among her five siblings. She does a part time job at a cat cafe and enjoys playing guitar, singing and drawing.

Evita Delmundo, the girl who was bullied and called a monster for having moles on her body and face is now a potential contestant of Miss Universe. People around her bullied her, made her feel that she is ugly and looks like a monster. But as Evita grew older, she learned that beauty is so much deeper than just the physical beauty. She eventually learned to accept herself and love the way she is.
Evita is now determined to show people especially the ones who bullied her that it’s okay to be different. The first platform she wants to take her message to is Miss Universe 2018.
We live in the society and with a generation of people who judge someone on their looks and that’s the one thing that matters the most to them. But Sabahan Evita Delmundo has proven to others that beauty has evolved way past the media’s typical standards.
She was covered up with moles all over her face and body. Although it wasn’t easy in the beginning to accept herself but she eventually accepted her and started loving herself the way she is. Evita was happy to be different than others after all that is what made her stand out in the crowd.
This the 20-year-old girl has just auditioned for 2018’s Miss Universe Malaysia. She has taken it upon herself to show everyone that appearances really aren’t everything. Delmundo was so determined that she plans on entering other beauty pageants if she doesn’t get selected for Miss Universe.
While Evita was in school, her classmates would give her names like “monster” or “chips more,” which was not easy to take at such a young age. At one point in time, it was so difficult for her to take it that her parents had to come to school to complain and scold her bullies.
Earlier she wanted to get rid of those moles and consulted a lot of doctors only to discover that it may be a risk to her health. So instead she decided to fully accept the body that she was born with. Now looking back upon things, Delmundo is actually grateful that she didn’t go through with the mole removal. She’s happy with them and that’s what helped her be a unique contestant of Miss Universe.
She thinks that aside from her looks and being Miss Universe contestant is the perfect place where she can inspire people to love them as they are and to show people that beauty is not just physical appearance.
She even met Samantha Katie James, Miss Universe Malaysia 2017.
Although her role model is Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach. Evita looks at her because she has a beautiful heart along with a pretty face and loves the way she carries herself.
